Managing COVID-19 & Symptoms

Whilst many things can cause similar symptoms to those of COVID, if you do have a fever, cough, shortness of breath and/or loss of taste and smell we will need to reschedule your appointment and you will be asked if you have experienced any of these symptoms.

In compliance with the government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 we have:

  • Followed cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with guidance.
  • Taken all reasonable steps to protect our staff at work.
  • Taken all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m distance in the clinic’s public areas.
  • We have done everything practical to manage transmission risk where people cannot be 2m apart.

Arriving at the Clinic

Please note the following:

  • You will need to be wearing a mask / covering of your mouth and nose (or one will be provided for you).
  • Patients will be required to wash their hands on entry.
  • Practitioners will be using disposable PPE.
  • Your therapist will end the consultation promptly in order to assist you to leave the clinic before the next patient arrives and to enable us to sanities the clinic thoroughly.

When not to attend

  • If you have symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has symptoms of COVID in the last 14 days.
  • If you have been notified by the NHS Track & Trace system that you are are required to self-isolate.

Finding out what fits

A consultation is needed with Matt to make sure that Acupuncture is right for you. It’s not for everyone, and it may not even be the thing you need. If it’s not, we may be able to treat your symptoms with another treatment – we’ll assess that as we chat during your consultation.

If it’s right for you, we may be able to perform the treatment right away.

What to expect

  • Personal Treatment Course

We'll agree together what the right course of action, people can show very different symptoms for their problems. In our consultation, I'll share my plan with you to get you started.

  • Whole body assessment

Just because your knee is causing you pain, doesn't mean that's where the problem lies. Often the causes of issues are because of something else going on. So I'll look at all of it, to make sure to fix the cause and not just the problem.

  • Check-ins

Some treatment programmes require homework. As part of our sessions, I'll check in on progress to make sure you're on plan to get yourself better again. If not, we'll look at what's going on and what we need to change.

  • Final Review

y this point, you should be symptom-free. If you've been working hard and sticking to the plan, you will be markedly better than when you first walk into my clinic. We'll take a look back at your progress, see where you've landed and set a new course (if that's necessary).
