I was a bit sceptical when I first joined the treatment with Matthew on the 10th of July. However, I had sever back pain and was on pain killers at least 4-5 times a week. I have had no painkillers since I have joined and the pain is so mild that I forget its actually slightly there, at times. I would recommend anyone to give it a go.

Great experience. I didn’t know if I was experiencing long covid, POTS, asthma, panic attacks, or something scarier – all I knew was I felt breathless all the time (with brain fog and fatigue too), and didn’t know why. 7 weeks into my acupuncture course and I can honestly say I’m pretty much better, after almost a year of feeling rubbish.He’s super knowledgable, has a knack for putting you at ease, and comes across as really caring. I’d highly recommend!

I had a wonderful experience when I booked with Mill Acupuncture clinic in Chester. Matthew was the practitioner who administered treatments. I attended this clinic after experiencing daily headaches for 6 months, Neurologist could not stop them with-out heavy pain medication which was limiting my activities. While having treatments Matthew was always very friendly skilled and professional. During treatments he was always caring and considerate which helped relax me. After 10 treatments as I am now pain free from headaches which enabled me to reduce use of pain medication and enabled me get back to a normal life. I would not hesitate to return in the future should I need to.

I found mill acupuncture when searching for someone to help with sciatica- I signed up for a course of 10 sessions and am almost at the end – my sciatica was greatly eased in the first 2 sessions but as I am now nearing the end of my course it’s completely cleared but better still other aches and pains especially around my shoulders have cleared and I am moving more freely.

A few months ago I started Acupuncture Treatment to help me deal with cronic pain i’ve been suffering with for many years. I’m also a IBD sufferer which hasn’t made my life easy!Within the first three weeks of treatment i felt my body responding positively, movements became easier, but unfortunately i had a IBD flare-up which put a stop to further treatment for a while but with Matthews expert professional help and expertise in understanding his many aspects of pain the treatments resumed.He saw me through a lot of pain and discomfort, he is very informative and I appreciated his advice for many of my problems.I highly recommend Matthews easy relaxed but positive treatments. I have been on a long and very difficult journey after catching covid in Jan 2020 and been searching for recovery through doctors and alternative therapies. When I came across Matt, he gave me a thorough assessment so he could ascertain whether he could help me…..he said he could! This was life changing for me after suffering for so long with no hope or answers from doctors.My body was full of inflammation from head to toe which was causing me numerous issues. Major gastro problems, chest pain which went right through to my back, shoulders. Constant fatigue, aches and pains through my body, palpitations and so on. When Matt assessed me I had pain in places I didn’t realise!!I booked a block of 10 sessions, the treatment was hard at first due to my body having detox reactions, Matt handled this well and spread the treatment plan out until my body was at ease with the process. Half way through I started to see the benefits which I honestly thought would never come. My body has been in a stress situation for over two years, this is not going to be fixed in one or two sessions. Trust what Matt advises you, he is very knowledgeable and you need to trust the process. I have come on so far which I really started to think it was never going to happen. Matt is the man and I am forever grateful for what he has done for me!

Went to Mill clinic with severe pain in both elbows which was badly affecting my golf after a thorough assessment by Matthew he worked out a treatment plan. After just 3 appointments the pain had noticeably diminished and a few more later had almost disappeared and i’m back to enjoying my golf again. Hi, I’ve been in agony with back and hip pain for years, because my spine is out of alignment near the base. I decided to try acupuncture with Matthew this February. I didn’t expect it to work straight away and it didn’t, it’s slow and sure, and I had 8 appointments out of the 10 by the time the acupuncture worked. I went to Matt after several years of chronic sciatica, spinal injection, medication, physiotherapy and osteopath which didn’t alleviate my pain. I couldn’t walk for more than 30 mins without sitting down. After my sessions with Matt my pain levels have dropped and I can now walk much longer. Suffering with arm problems over a long period and not wanting to take pills, I sought help from Matthew, who after the initial consultation, identified the problems, proceeded with the acupuncture treatment, from which I gained considerable relief of stiffness and movement in my arms and shoulders. I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition …Polymyalgia Rheumatica, for which the only conventional treatment is steroids. This medication can cause a whole range of irreversible side effects, so my mission is to reduce them and get off them asap. I’d read that acupuncture can help with autoimmune conditions, so I came along with an open mind to give it a go. I found Matt friendly, professional and helpful at all times. I underwent a course of 10 sessions. For the first 7 of those sessions, I can’t say I felt any change in the level of pain I had been experiencing. From the 8th session however, there was a definite improvement. I have reduced my steroid intake since starting the course . Although I cannot be sure this has had anything to do with the acupuncture, if you are considering it as a treatment to try, it may well be worth a go. I have no hesitation in recommending Matt if you are looking for a knowledgeable and reassuring acupuncture specialist. I intend to carry on doing the “homework” he recommended too!

Recommended for those suffering with bruxism. PLEASE READ!After a long tennis match between my doctor and dentist who neither would take the matter of my nerve pain seriously in my mouth, a colleague in work recommended Acupuncture – specifically, Mill Acupuncture.After a brief consultation, Matthew knew exactly what was needed and it was a huge sigh of relief to the constant guessing from other professionals. I have spent over 10 weeks with Matthew, receiving a myriad of different techniques to try and keep my bruxism at bay.Some of the later treatments almost felt otherworldly to experience and you wonder how the body can be such a unique and complex place, that luckily Matthew seems to know his way around like the back of his hand. The word ‘experience’ doesn’t quite cut it for what this guy knows when it comes to the body. He has an extensive knowledge and delivers it in a kind, simple and reassuring way.Apart from relaxation in my bruxism, one huge benefit has been the ability to sleep better and feel a lot more energetic after a full day of work. It has been a hugely beneficial experience and something I highly recommend.

I was really suffering because of sciatica. I’d tried a chiropractor for some gentle manipulation at the base of my spine but this seemed to make it worse. I had visited my doctor several times over a couple of weeks who kept giving me different meds, none of which seemed to be helping either. A friend recommended to try acupuncture. As nothing seemed to be helping me, I thought I would give it a chance. I read some reviews for Matthew Budd on his website which convinced me it might work. I booked a consultation with Matthew and he put a treatment program in place. After only 3 sessions I was pretty much pain free. I couldn’t believe the results. Matthew also gave me some corrective exercises to do at home which would help me to regain my posture as I was still limping after the sciatica. I’m moving much better as a result.Matthew is a very caring person too which I think helps when you’re suffering. I would now highly recommend acupuncture to anyone who is suffering with back problems including of course sciatica.

I’ve really struggled with terrible headaches for a period of 5-6 weeks, I’ve visited all the doctors and all results were ‘fine’, but the headaches were constant. I visited Matt as I running out of options and I willing to try anything. After getting little and ineffectual help from the NHS, I went to see Mathew as a bit of a last resort and with a healthy dose of scepticism. I had two long standing problems which he immediately diagnosed and thought he could successfully treat, He explained the situation. what the treatment consisted of in layman’s terms, and costs before we started.I had a series of Acupuncture treatments and instructions for exercises which could be done at home in about 10 minutes a day. I could see and feel the benefits after every session, which he would alter if need be according to my feedback. In Jan 21, I suffered from Acute COVID-19 and pneumonia which required a long stay in intensive care and a subsequent pulmonary embolism, and nerve damage in my legs, my recovery was long had left me still suffering with painful, stiff joints, shooting pains, numbness and tingling and restless legs syndrome. In Nov 2021, Acupuncture had been suggested to me so a quick google search and I found Matt at Mill Acupuncture. From the first consultation, Matt was wonderful. He really put me at ease and was confident that he could help me. We began a multi-discipline treatment plan of acupressure, acupuncture and other treatments and my symptoms improved immediately. I now sleep better and no longer have restless legs at all. I do still have some pain and numbness (although this has also improved) in my legs especially if I’ve exerted myself too much but they seem to feel better again and recover much quicker than before. Matt gave me strengthening exercises to do which are continuing to help. I would wholeheartedly recommend Matt and Mill Acupuncture. Thank you so much for helping me!

I decided I had no other place to go but acupuncture as my choices were getting very thin on the ground.I have interstitial cystitis which causes me a lot of pain, urgency and my everyday life was becoming increasingly difficult.Meeting up at the clinic was me having a punt at trying anything. Modern day Jesus is in Chester.I had previously had 18 treatments from an Osteopath, who recommended quite a few deep tissue massage treatments, plus loads of stretching exercises. But all did absolutely nothing for my back pain. I am not saying that seeing an Osteopath doesn’t help anyone, it just wasn’t for me. After a few months of still suffering, but continuing with the exercises I decided to try a totally different approach. So looked at the fabulous reviews about Matt. Well they weren’t wrong. He made me feel really relaxed when I arrived at his clinic. I must admit I was a bit sceptical at first. Matt was confident that he could help me. He said stop doing the stretching exercises as they are not helping you, was pleased about that as he was right. The treatments from Matt seem strange, as not directly touching the areas that hurt. After the second treatment the pain in my back just disappeared. It was incredible and guess what I have almost finished my treatments of 10 and the pain hasn’t come back! I have additional pain in my neck and shoulder where Matt has also helped the pain. Matt is such a nice guy and so interesting to talk to. Thank you so much for your help Matt.

I have been struggling with chronic knee pain for over 8 years and had x-rays and physio but nothing seemed to help. My right knee would click, grind and lock and I would find it difficult getting up off the floor without the aid of support. I visited Mill Accupunture for treatment and it has been a game changer. I have recently undergone a 5 week treatment program at Mill Acupuncture. I have several complicated health issues and find that the NHS treat them all separately despite them being inextricably linked. Matthew has a very different approach he is a holistic practitioner who is knowledgeable, skilled and empathic. Each time I had treatment it was tailored to meet my specific needs and was very effective. I feel so much better now than when I started treatment and cannot recommend Matthew highly enough.

After discovering mat on Google and attending around 8 sessions he was able to completley correct my back and neck problems. For over 3 years I suffered with pustular psoriasis on the sole of my foot. Having tried light treatment, steroids and creams from my GP, which had no effect the next stage was chemo based drugs. I had got to the point that I couldnt walk, my foot was cracked and bleeding and I was in terrible pain. The first time I met Matt I was crying from the pain. Matt was my saviour. Matt is my Christmas angel. have been to see Matt plenty of times with different issues.He has always fixed me and I swear by him. my daughter gets married New Years Eve and I suddenly got pain in my knee. couldn’t walk when I arrived to see Matt. the relieve after the first treatment was amazing. after 8 treatments i am now able to walk without limping.the pain in me knee is coming from my back. he is amazing. I had accupunture here to compliment my fertility treatment (IVF and IUI). Matt is lovely and i had about 15 sessions in total. I am now 23 weeks pregnant and would 100% recommend this complimentary treatment, at the very least it gives you a hour to relax even if you dont believe in alternative medicine!

I have had 4 or 5 sessions with Matt so far, I am already feeling the benefits! Matt totally put me at ease, he is easy to talk with so knowledgable and reassuring. I feel more aware of my body and what’s going on and now have hope.

I’ve suffered with bad sciatic pain for years, I had a diseconomy 4 years ago on L5/S1, consequently I’m always pessimistic about using new types of treatment as none worked for me last time. This time I had severe sciatic pain which was quite immobilising and painkillers weren’t touching it. I got in touch with Matt, he was able to see me the same day and worked miracles for me! After the first session my leg pain had disappeared, I had 4 more sessions and all back pain has gone. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Pregnancy, a C-section and all the lifting and carrying around that comes with a baby had really taken it’s toll on my body in various ways, but after a few sessions with Matt I felt much less restricted through my body, no more back pain and just much more able!
Matt is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful manner and is always eager to explain what’s happening in the body, why and what he’s doing to improve it.
I recommend him for anyone that’s had a baby or even if you’re just feeling out of sorts and can’t quite put your finger on it, or have multiple niggles.

I went to Matt at The Tweedmill Clinic in St Asaph. When I first went to see him ,Ifelt completely at ease with his manner . I had back problems after a fall fracturing 2 bones in my back and was on medication to ease the pain . I wasn’t keen on taking daily , so I thought I’d give it a go. I cannot believe that the pain eased just after the first treatment !! I continued the treatment and was able to come off the pain killers . I would thoroughly recommend Matt !!!

After recently having a stapedectomy on my left ear, I was left with balance problems and dizziness. I couldn’t walk in a straight line and felt like a magnet was pulling me to the right! I decided to see Matt at the Tweedmill to see if he could help. After the first session of acupressure I could walk straight and felt less dizzy. It was an amazing result! I can not speak highly enough regarding Matt and his extraordinary ability!! I was referred to Matt by my Personal Trainer Noelle Watson as I was having problems with my left knee. Loads of pain and it felt unstable when walking.
My GP gave me something for arthritis … without even looking at my knee!! Yes the medication helped but I am anti meds so I was a little uptight that I was taking a drug to help sort it out!!
So I made an appointment with Matt and was blown away by his diagnosis!! It wasn’t my knee causing the problem but my pelvis/hip! It was a muscle problem … couldn’t even hold my left leg up because the Psoas muscle on my left side had stopped functioning! By the end of the hour I was able to hold the left leg up. Now 3 treatments later the pain in my knee nearly gone and I feel so much better all round. Matt also picked up restrictive movement in my neck….. not any more he’s sorted it!!
I would 100% recommend this practice, the treatment is highly effective and Matt is outstanding. He is also a really nice guy who explains everything to you which in turn is very reassuring.

I was in agony with sciatica down the front of my leg when I first went to see Matthew. I couldn’t stand up for long. I had 2 sessions with him and the pain had nearly gone. My leg was giving way as the muscle had gone to sleep due to the sciatica. Matthew worked his magic and my leg has been fine since. I havent taken any anti inflamatories or painkillers since. I have received 3 treatments from Matthew and the results have been amazing !I went with hip and knee pain which has been ongoing for 5 years or more.I have had chiropractic treatment, physiotherapy, tried magnets, pain pads etc,and more recently received steroid injections from the Dr which lasted no more than a couple of months.I suffer from MS and had a considerable weakness in my left leg which was causing an inbalance in my gait.Following accupuncture last Wednesday the strength in my leg was nothing short of amazing.I cannot wait for my next treatment !Matthew is very informative and has a very professional manner.I am totally convinced that he will be able tosort out the problems that I have.

Matthew is a personable and warm professional who’s demeanour puts you immediately at ease.Having been referred as part of an holistic approach to treatment by Tim Martin the excellent resident Osteopath at the clinic, something which was reinforced by a GP friend who had found acupuncture very effective during his professional rugby career, Matthew said that the level of fibrotic tissue present in my upper back, neck and shoulders was the worst he had seen in his career. To the extent that he was not completely sure treatment would be 100% effective.Well I am delighted to report that after less than a year of curative and then routine acupuncture, as well as the surprisingly excellent dry cupping my condition has been cured, the muscle fibers are now near normal, my nervous system has calmed down and the associated spasms are rare not routine.In my experience; highly recommended and worth every penny.

Matt Budd has been supporting and treating me for the past 3 years whilst I wait for my Neuro Spinal surgery. I first of all had to loose 6 stone in weight this was done by my own means and finally by a Sleeve Gastrectomy. Throughout this time I have needed treatment for constant spinal and sciatic pain. Without Matt’s treatment using both Acupuncture and gentle massage I would have been in constant pain and had limited movement plus lack of sleep. He is very professional and takes an update of my progress at each visit.Acupuncture has allowed me to restrict the amount of both controlled drugs and analgesic drugs. I can also now go to yoga classes and do water walking as continuing exercise.

I had a heel problem and only realised I could be helped a Mill Acupuncture when I went with my husband to the clinic. Mathew is amazing I was in a lot of discomfort my heel was soooooooo painful . I found walking for long distances and wearing fashionable shoes a problem but after working with Mathew my heel is pain free. I have had sciatica for two years and was told by my doctor to take painkillers and to do yoga exercises. My pain over the last few weeks was so intense, I couldn’t sleep. I have been suffering with severe Plantar Fasciitis Pain for some 18 months and at times it was unbearable!! I went to my doctor and all she suggested was pain relief cream and a set of exercises to do at the bottom of the stairs!! Needless to say it was still there! I put on a load of weight as I couldn’t do some of the things I enjoyed like Nordic Walking and Pilates and was getting really frustrated! I’d purchased insoles, socks and various other things, but nothing was working!!

Just by chance I picked up a leaflet at the Tweedmill regarding Plantar Fasciitis and thought I’ve got to give it a go!!! So I rang and had an appointment with Mathew – he is brilliant!! I must admit sometimes it is quite painful and I don’t really like needles, but as I am lying on my front I don’t see the needles going in!
I have had about 6/7 treatments now and it is well on the way to becoming ‘normal’ again!!!
I can only thank Mathew for this, as I really thought I was going to be like this for EVER!!

When I met Matthew and enquired about treatments available at Tweedmill, he patiently listened and carefully asked me about my health issues before he suggested acupuncture to treat my sinus/nerve pain.
I didn’t need a recommendation as his professional manner gave me the confidence to go for it!
I’ve been suffering with these symptoms since January and I’m very happy with the result of the treatment far – after my first session, I felt a noticeable improvement and after my second treatment earlier today, I am feeling optimistic as I’m finding Matthew’s acupuncture extremely beneficial.

At first, I was apprehensive and didn’t really like the idea of having needles stuck in me, but with Matthew’s calming nature I felt in very safe hands.
